Hamilton - The Formerly Men's School

I stayed at the visitor's center at Hamilton College, Clinton, NY, and
all along the hallways were photos of the bygone era...all of men on
sports teams. At Vassar, I still hear, 'oh, Vassar, is that still a
women's college?' despite all the concerted efforts to correct that
over 40-year old notion.

Google Does Art

Google's Art Project looks pretty amazing. See the guy's eye? That's the messiah's eye zoomed in on. Check out the how-to-use page. It's awesome. It's not Second Life. It's first life.

It seems the thing to do...take a group photo at GSA Penrose conferences. This is our lot getting ready to get our photo taken in the cold of Mountain View, CA.

A School From Another Era

These are entrances to my kid's elementary school. The building is old. You could say it's Old School, built in a throwback time when boys and girls had to enter and exit the school in separate, single-file lines. Now they enter and exit as little young ones, all together, in single-file lines. I went to elementary school in southern California where we had bungalows that were meant for temporarily housing (and teaching) us kids and they are probably still being used for educational purposes today. My elementary school  was not a stately, old-fashioned building, the kind from the Lil Rascals or Leave It To Beaver days. I kind of like that my kid goes to a school that her grandma might have walked through.

Traffic Circles Are a Good Thing

We in America must learn to embrace the roundabout. They are not to be feared. They work at keeping the traffic flowing.
